About Coach Young
I am dedicated to developing complete hockey players — on and off the ice. I believe in building strong fundamentals, character, and a love for the game that lasts a lifetime. My coaching philosophy is simple: teach the basics thoroughly. I believe that mastering the fundamentals is the foundation for every great player, and by teaching them with patience, attention to detail, and purpose, I help players build confidence, become smarter on the ice, and reach their full potential.
My path includes playing for the Korea National Ice Hockey Team, and I've since built extensive coaching experience with youth and high school teams, including the Bears 10U, PML 14U, Heat 12U, and the Venom High School Team, and I currently serve as Program Director for Pickwick Hockey.
Across every level I've coached, my focus stays the same: developing strong fundamentals, building confidence and leadership, creating a positive and competitive team culture, and instilling discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship in every player I work with. Building players. Building character.
