Guy Viau

I am a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach with over 14 years of experience developing youth hockey players from 10U to 16U at the A and AA levels. I’ve coached with top-tier programs, focusing on skill development, team play, and player growth both on and off the ice.

As a lifelong multi-sport athlete, I competed at the AA and AAA levels during my youth hockey career and played Junior hockey at age 15—making me the youngest player on my team at the time. I also competed nationally in tennis, ranking among the top 5 junior players in Canada during my teen years. These diverse experiences have shaped my holistic approach to coaching and athletic development.

In addition to my coaching and playing background, I’m also a hockey parent. Raising two players has given me valuable insight into how to communicate effectively with young athletes, understand their challenges, and help them build confidence. My coaching philosophy centers on positive reinforcement, motivation, and creating a safe, competitive environment where players can thrive, improve, and deepen their love for the game.
