Flyers families I hope this email finds you well.  Around October 1st a new Flyers board of directors was installed.  The new board is made up of strong coaches and motivated parents.  We have one goal, make the Flyers the best hockey club it can be. New energy, new direction, New Flyers.  The new program is athlete focused. We will be strong on development giving your hockey player the resources they need to become the best they can be.

I am sure you are all wondering what is happening with the season in these COVID-19 times.  As things stand right now, tryouts are currently scheduled as follows, Tier II (AA) November 20th-22nd.  A/BB/B and Mite begin December 4th. These dates are tentative.  The LA county COVID-19 risk level will need to be in the Red Zone or better for tryouts to go on as scheduled.  The Southern California Amateur Hockey Association meets regularly to review the situation. The season would run from January through May. All teams including Tier II teams would play SCAHA games.  No CAHA weekends this season. Hopefully, we will get there!

Another question people are asking, what is going on with the rink?  The city is currently going through the process of repairing or replacing ice equipment.  The new management company will be chosen in November.  The management company will receive the rink in working order.  Once the ice is up and we are in the Covid-19 Red Zone or better we can return to our home rink.
If the rink is not ready when tryout day arrives, we will hold tryouts at Ice Land in Van Nuys.  I will update you as things progress.

Next who are the coaches? We will be conducting age and specific coach meetings via ZOOM beginning October 26th.  We will send out dates and times this week.

The new website will be your source for all things Flyers. Signups, Flyers Team Store, News, it will all come from that site.

We want to grow our club and we will need your help with that.  We were only given the email list for previous Flyers.  Please forward this email to whomever you think may be interested in the Flyers.  People can sign up for information here

We will update you regularly over the next few weeks.

Feel free to reach out with any question’s suggestions or comments.

I look forward to seeing you all back at the rink very soon!
